Socially Responsible Investing Strategies

Social Screening

I examine the social and environmental records of companies to determine which ones should be included in the investment strategies of my clients. As a member of the Social Investment Forum, I am kept up to date on the policies and records of a large number of companies.

Shareholder Advocacy

As a shareholder, you are able to exert influence on the company's policies and behavior. Shareholder advocacy has many forms, including letter-writing, filing formal resolutions, voting and proxy voting.

Community Investing

Investing in your community channels money and capital into projects that help the disadvantaged. This capital could be used to create jobs, build homes and build or rebuild communities.

Competitive Returns

Socially-Responsible investing has grown in recent years, and is still growing. Due to this growth, there are more investment options than ever before. By identifying companies with good social and environmental performance, investors are also better able to identify companies with good management and lower risk of litigation or regulation.
